In these image conscious times the invisibility of literature assists us in throwing off some of the stereotypes that have been etched upon our minds enabling us to create for ourselves the pictures that are inspired in our minds when we close our eyes and open our minds to other possibilities.
The power of the story to liberate and inform, yarns spun over eons, gossip shared, the tales of wives. Words have long been the domain of women and long have we been berated and belittled, called nag and harpie, accused of tattle and prattle and generally dismissed.
Filthy Mouths & Evil Tongues combines these two much maligned elements of womanhood, our sexuality and our voices, and flaunts them shamelessly in a bawdy celebration of everything we were told we should never do or say. In sharing our secrets and our stories, our similarities and our diversity, we hope to share the joys of liberation and empowerment and to contribute in our naughty way to universal acceptance and understanding.
